Last year, there were reports that WhatsApp is working on a new feature called Private Reply. This feature was also rolled out to the Windows Phone beta version of the app but it was only for a short time period. Now, this feature is being rolled out to the Android beta version of the app. We can expect the users of the stable version of the app to get this feature to get this feature soon. Brace yourself for ads on WhatsApp. Chris Daniels, Vice President of WhatsApp, on Wednesday said that the company was going to monetise the service by allowing businesses to run advertisements. “Facebook will start monetising WhatsApp, and show ads in the ‘Status’ section of the app”, Chris Daniels said. This is also in line with Facebook’s plan to monetise the ‘WhatsApp for Business’ app which is currently free for businesses. Facebook will charge companies for running ads on the platform. These ads will be interlinked to the advertiser’s profile on WhatsApp. Chris was speaking on the sidelines of the platform’s partnership with Invest India to promote Indian startups. WhatsApp will offer $250,000 to five startups through the ‘WhatsApp StartUp Challenge’ . Chris did not reveal a timeline for the roll-out of the advertisements but it’s reported to arrive early next year. After a spate of rumors, speculations and leaks over the past few months,  WhatsApp has finally rolled out ‘Stickers’ on both Android and iOS . The app will support only Facebook’s sticker packs to start off with, before eventually supporting third-party stickers. While only static images are being supported right now,  animated Stickers will be available in the near future. What's app  has once again come out with yet another update for its users. The messaging app has rolled out a subtle change that will encourage users to make video calls instead of voice calls. WhatsApp has released a beta update that introduces a new video call switch button. It appears when you’re in the middle of a WhatsApp voice call, and tapping it will send a request to the person you’re talking to, asking if they want to switch from voice to video. Previously, users had to cut the call to switch from a voice call to a video call. As per the report on WABetaInfo, the feature currently works on Android devices with Android 6.0 and above. Whatsapp Admin       Facebook-owned WhatsApp is likely to give group administrators more powers where they will be able to restrict all other members from sending text messages, photographs, videos, GIFs, documents or voice messages in case the admin thinks so. According to WABetaInfo, a fan site that tests new WhatsApp features early, the popular mobile messaging platform has submitted the “Restricted Groups” setting via Google Play Beta Programme in the version 2.17.430. The “Restricted Groups” setting can only be activated by group admininstrators. Administrators can keep sharing media and chatting as normal as they restrict other members. Once restricted, other members will simply have to read their messages and will not be able to respond. They will have to use the “ Message Admin ” button to post a message or share media to the group.
