Patidar Leader Hardik Patel Marries Childhood Friend In Gujarat


Gujarat Patidar leader Hardik Patel married his childhood friend, Kinjal Parikh, in a traditional ceremony today. Their wedding took place at a temple in Gujarat's Surendranagar, about 130 km from Ahmedabad. "This is the beginning of the second innings of my family life," he told reporters after the ceremony.

Hardik Patel's father Bharat Patel said the marriage ceremony was planned earlier too but had to be cancelled.
The bride's father said the families have known each other for about 30 years.

Oscars 2018: Sridevi, Shashi Kapoor remembered during In Memoriam section

Sridevi and Shashi Kapoor were honoured at Oscars 2018 in ‘In Memoriam’ section Sridevi and Shashi Kapoor were honoured at the 90th Academy Awards, also called the Oscars, in its In Memoriam section today. Shashi Kapoor passed away at the age of 79 in December 2017 while Sridevi, aged 54, died in Dubai in February. The In Memoriam segment of the Oscars   pays tribute to artistes who have passed this year. Sridevi’s death, caused due to “accidental drowning”, left the entire country in shock. The actor has worked in over 300 films in a career spanning over 45 years. Her filmography includes films done in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam. Sridevi died in February in Dubai. Kapoor is best remembered by English-speaking audiences in Merchant Ivory films such as The Householder (1963), Shakespeare Wallah (1965) and Heat and Dust (1983).
