Tata Sky Launches New, Unlimited Broadband Plans, Starting at Rs 590

With the impending launch of Jio GigaFiber expected to upend the fixed-line broadband industry the way it changed the mobile telephone landscape earlier in the decade, most incumbent broadband service providers are bracing for the expected onslaught by reducing prices, increasing data caps or, like in the case of Tata Sky, introducing a bunch of new, unlimited plans at relatively affordable price-points. Believed to have been spotted first by TelecomTalk, Tata Sky, known primarily for its DTH TV services, has listed a number of new unlimited broadband plans on its official website. The most affordable of the lot is a 16Mbps plan priced at Rs. 590 per month, while the other plans come with download speeds of 25Mbps, 50Mbps, 75Mbps and 100Mbps. All the plans come with free routers when subscribed for a period of at least three months. US government to issue licenses to companies wanting to trade with Huawei

In the development of the Huawei-US trade tensions, the US Department of Commerce will begin issuing special licenses to companies that wish to keep their business ties with the Chinese tech giant. The news was confirmed by the head of the Commerce of Department Wilbur Ross at the Annual Security Conference on Export Controls and Security. Late last month at the G20 summit, US president Donald Trump  confirmed  American companies will continue to sell components to Huawei granted that they doesn’t pose a threat to national security. Later on it became  clear  that US companies would be allowed to sell widely available components which are sold in other markets while more sensitive equipment would remain off limits. Commerce Secretary Ross stated that the new licenses will still have to oblige the previously issued component availability confinements. Tinder Lite will arrive in Vietnam in the ‘coming weeks’

The app is 25 times smaller than the main app, and while it maintains the core functionality, like swiping, it nixes more data-heavy ones, like the Feed. The idea is that Tinder Lite is faster, requires less battery life, and reduces data usage. For now, Tinder Lite users can’t upgrade to a Tinder Plus or Gold subscription within the app, but the company says it plans to do so over time.
