Android 9.0 Pie rolling out to the Xiaomi Mi A1 in few weeks.

Smartphones that are part of the Android One program come with a promise for timely OS updates. Well, it's hardly been timely, but Android 9.0 Pie has now rolled out to the Xiaomi Mi A1.

The firmware weighs in at 1074MB and aside from bringing the major OS release, comes with support for FM radio - until now it wasn't available on the A1, but just on its Chinese-only twin 5X.

The brief changelog also mentions new navigation options - whether it's the Pixel pill button and gestures, or Xiaomi's custom implementation, remains to be seen. Adaptive battery and brightness features are also introduced.

The initial report comes from a user in Bangladesh, and as with all things update-related, you can expect a gradual rollout to all markets. Meanwhile, the Mi A2's Pie update has been out for a few weeks now

Samsung will unveil the Galaxy S9 next month

Samsung will unveil its next flagship handset, the Galaxy S9, next month at Mobile World Congress (MWC). The company’s smartphone chief, DJ Koh, confirmed the launch to ZDNet at CES yesterday. Koh didn’t offer a specific date, but MWC will run from February 26th to March 1st this year, so expect the unveiling to fall somewhere in that time frame. The S9 (and, presumably, an S9 Plus) will be the successors to the S8 and S8 Plus, which launched at a Samsung event in New York last March before going on sale in April. The S8 and its bigger brother were a hit with critics, who praised the phones’ gorgeous design and brilliant cameras. Elon Musk Hints At 'Partial Presence' Of Tesla In India By 2019

The tweet sent out now brings in some hope and a partial presence in India would certainly help in boosting the electric car market in India Tesla Motors' Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Elon Musk , today revealed that the company's plans to expand its overall market beyond North America, Europe, and China. We already told you that the company plans to make the Model 3 in China and has hinted at achieving 7000 units production capacity. Musk also revealed on Twitter that he recently asked his service team to expand to all population regions in North America, Eastern Europe, China, and Japan by the end of next year. He even said that "We are completely missing vast geographic regions in some cases."
